SRS Council

Current Council

The Senior Research Scientists Council was established in 2005 for the purpose of:

1. Representing the interests of the JPL science and technology community to the JPL management
2. Undertaking studies and activities of importance to the JPL science and technology community
3. Advising the Chief Scientist and Chief Technologist on matters relating to the research program of the laboratory
4. Acting as an advocacy body for the health of research at JPL

The JPL Senior Research Scientist Council is composed of nine members elected by the Senior Research Scientists at JPL to serve for three years and they are listed below:

*The Council Chair position was elected in 09/2012 and is scheduled for re-election in 09/2013.

Historical Information

The first elected 9 members of the SRSC were announced on July 20, 2005 by the former Chief Scientists, Thomas A. Prince. Lute Maleki was the first Chair of the Council and his accepting the Chairship was announced on November 7, 2005. The first meeting of the Council was held on December 2, 2005.
