After serving as the Laboratory’s Chief Scientist for over 10 years, Dan McCleese is stepping down and will be serving as a special assistant to me working to enhance our research collaborations with Campus. Dan has provided outstanding scientific leadership during this time, ensured that JPL has a strong and vibrant science community, and strengthened our collaborations with our external science partners. He has made a significant contribution to the JPL R&TD process which has resulted in the furthering of research at JPL. He will continue in his role as Principal Investigator for the Mars Climate Sounder aboard the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter.
Effective January 3, 2017, Cinzia Zuffada is appointed as Acting Chief Scientist. Cinzia became the Associate Chief Scientist in November 2006. In this role, she has had overall responsibility for the Center for Academic Partnerships, the Strategic University Research Partnership Program (SURP) and Post Doc Program. Her successful leadership of these programs has prepared her well for this role.
