The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has been developing microwave instruments for remote sensing missions since 1978, including radiometers, scatterometers and synthetic aperture radars. This talk will describe the organization’s overall remote-sensing program, and then focus on recent developments in scatterometry and synthetic aperture radar systems, notably OceanSat-2 and Radar Imaging Satellite 1.
