JPL's Adam Steltzner, chief engineer of the Mars Perseverance rover, is giving a free lecture titled "Success and Failure on Mars: Mechanics in the Exploration of Space" for the U.S. National Committee for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics.

Over the last three decades, engineering mechanics has been exploited to yield success in the exploration of Mars. This talk will highlight a few examples of engineering mechanics being used to save billions of dollars of U.S. investment and create an ever-expanding understanding of Mars – and Earth’s place in the solar system.

Everyone is welcome to attend.
