Ceremonies held in September honored five postdoctoral scholars for their outstanding research efforts at JPL.
The researchers won a competition at the annual Postdoctoral Research Day. The day showcased the outstanding work of postdoctoral scholars in the fields of Earth science, astrophysics and space science, planetary science and life detection, and technology, instrumentation and engineering.
The winners delivered lectures on their work at the September 22nd awards ceremony and were presented with commemorative plaques by JPL Chief Scientist, Dan McCleese.
The five winners were:
- Hyunsung Jun for his work on Rest-Frame Optical Spectra and Black Hole Masses of 3<z<6 Quasars
- Cedric Fichot for his work on High-Resolution Remote Sensing for Water Quality Monitoring in the California Bay-Delta
- Hanii Takahashi for her work on Can Land-Ocean Differences of the Warm Rain Formation Process be Explained by Vertical Velocity
- Jessica Creamer for her work on Development of a Chiral Amino Acid Separation by Microchip Electrophoresis for Analysis of Extraterrestrial Samples
- James Ma for his work on Composite Assisted Funneling of Electrons for Improved Performance of Bulk Thermoelectric Materials
