Changyun (Chang) Yoo is a NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) Fellow working in the Submillimeter-Wave Advanced Technology group (386H) at JPL. He obtained a Bachelor degree in physics from Amherst College, and received a Master degree and a Ph.D. from University of California at Santa Barbara. His Ph.D. thesis was on developing a novel THz heterodyne detector based on intersubband transitions in semiconductor heterostructures, named as the Tunable Antenna-Coupled Intersubband Terahertz (TACIT) mixers. His current research is focused on further developing the TACIT mixers and other new THz heterodyne detectors such as superconducting hot-electron bolometer (HEB) mixers based on MgB2.
