NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California is welcoming the public this weekend. On Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3 from 9:00AM to 5:00PM, the lab will open its doors and allow the public to come see exhibits and talk with JPL researchers.
Highlights of interest to the research community include exhibits on:
* Power Technologies (such as MMRTG and Photovoltaic Fuel Cells)
* Optical Communication
* Mission Assurance
* JPL UV imaging technology (UV-CCD cameras)
* Quantum-Well Infrared Photodetectors
* Microdevices Laboratory presentations
Along with these technology demonstrations, there are several booths dedicated to Earth science, astrophysics, and planetary exploration. All of these display areas will have researchers on-hand to discuss JPL’s various missions and activities.
