Dr. Nitika Yadlapalli Yurk

Nitika (she/hers) is a NASA Postdoctoral Program Fellow working on technology development for millimeter and sub-millimeter wave radar that will be used for the study of water vapor and clouds in the Earth’s atmosphere. Before this, Nitika received her PhD in astronomy from Caltech, where she worked on millimeter radio interferometry and its use in observing the high energy radio universe. Outside of research, she is passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts (both in STEM and more broadly).

Education:
  • PhD in Astronomy from Caltech (2023)
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rutgers University (2018)

Research Interests:

Millimeter and sub-millimeter wave instrumentation, climate science, high energy astrophysics
