Oscar Fuentes-Muñoz

NASA Postdoctoral Program Fellow at JPL’s Solar System Dynamics Group (SSD or 392R). Oscar completed his PhD in Aerospace Engineering Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2023, with a dissertation titled: “Semi-analytical methods of orbit propagation for Near-Earth asteroids”. As a graduate researcher he worked for missions Janus and DART in the study of perturbations to asteroid binaries due to planetary close encounters. As an intern at JPL (JVSRP), he worked in characterizing potentially hazardous asteroids (PHAs) for their impact hazard in timescales of thousands of years, with a focus in km-sized asteroids.
