Shashank Srinivas Joshil

Shashank Srinivas Joshil is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Radar Science & Engineering section of the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). He works on Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) signal processing and simulations focusing on tomographic applications.

Shashank completed his PhD in 2022, with research focusing on signal processing, algorithms and simulations for weather radars, radar precipitation mapping at local, regional and global scales. He has worked with many state of the art weather radars which operate at various frequency bands, including the NASA D3R weather radar, AQPI X-band weather radars and CASA X-band weather radars. He served as the chief engineer for the NASA D3R weather radar from 2016 to 2022.

Shashank has also worked on futuristic landing radar simulation tool development and validation, simulations of spaceborne SAR signals during his internships at JPL in 2020 and 2021-2022.
